Diane Cass Returns To Genesee Land Trust Board of Directors
Diane Cass of Rochester was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Genesee Land Trust after a hiatus. Cass has been a Science Librarian at the University of Rochester’s Carlson Science and Engineering Library for 25 years. She joined Genesee Land Trust in the early 1990s, quickly becoming immersed in its conservation work, and soon joined the board. Cass learned early on in her life to value nature while she worked beside her father on their family farm in Vermont. Relocating Rochester 30 years ago, she treasured the farms in the Genesee Valley and the forests in the Finger Lakes, all of which strengthened her commitment to land preservation. At Genesee Land Trust, Diane Cass will serve as a member of the Land Protection, Land Management, and Farmland Initiative Committees. Cass, who has always been an active member of the Trust, will continue to lend a hand at special events or any needs of Genesee Land Trust.
Genesee Land Trust is the Greater Rochester area’s local land preservation organization that now protects over 3200 acres. It was founded in 1989.
