Ganargua Creek
Meadow Preserve, Macedon: Saturday, May 10
from 9:00 A.M. to noon. WORK: post perimeter signs, maintain
and clear excess foliage from trails and replace a culvert. Work
content will range from light to strenuous. Driving directions:
From I-490, take Exit #26 onto Route 31 East (Pittsford-Palmyra
Road). Continue for about 6 miles. Turn right onto Wayneport Road
(CR-306). Turn left onto Wilkinson Road. Turn right onto Bunker
Hill Drive. Meet at the small parking area at the end of the street.
Work Party
at Brookdale Preserve, Chili : Saturday,
May 17, 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
We will continue clearing excess foliage from existing trails and
extend the new trail, along with trash and debris clean up around
the DEC entrance to the Preserve. Work content will range from moderate
to strenuous. While tools will be provided, if one wishes to bring
their own pruning/clearing tools and rakes, please do so. Remember
to bring work gloves. Poison Ivy is an issue, please dress accordingly.
Driving directions: Brookdale Preserve is north of Brook Rd, bordered
on one side by the Genesee Valley Greenway Trail. From the intersection
of Rte 252 (Jefferson Road) and Rte 353 (Scottsville Road) in Chili,
go south on 383, turn West on Brook Road. Park and meet in New York
State Department of Parks parking lot, on right.
El Camino,
Rochester: Saturday, May 17, 9 a.m. until
1 p.m.

Work will include general
clean-up and removal of excess foliage from the area around the
trail. Work is planned in conjunction with the City of Rochester
and ranges from light to moderate. GLT volunteers are encouraged
to join other Rochesterians in an El Camino Clean Sweep! Meet at
the Neighborhood Empowerment Team office 500 Norton Street just
West of Seneca Avenue about 1/4 mile South of Route 104. Ask to
be assigned to El Camino.
