GENESEE LAND TRUST PRESENTS
The Trials, Tribulations and Ultimate Rewards…Of Landscaping
A Yard For Birds
A conversation with author Bob Marcotte
On Wednesday, March 15, 7PM at the Penfield Library, Genesee Land
Trust will present “The Trials, Tribulations and Ultimate
Rewards of Landscaping A Yard For Birds.” Bob Marcotte, staff
writer for the Democrat and Chronicle, historian and author, is
also an avid birder. In an effort to attract creatures of the wild
to his property, he learned how to transform his yard into a wildlife
paradise. Marcotte, a Genesee Land Trust member, will explain how
he was able to pretty much kiss his lawnmower good-bye! Along the
way to creating a real wildlife habitat, he discovered some do’s
and don’ts about native plants, perennials vs. annuals and
much more. Marcotte will share all with the audience, using slides
and a scrapbook to demonstrate this garden’s evolution. He
will also allow much time for questions and answers.
Marcotte recently published “Birds of the Genesee”
which will be available for sale at this event. “The Trials
and Tribulations…”is free and open to the public. So
mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 15th, 7PM at the Brighton
Memorial Library, 2300 Elmwood Ave. This Genesee Land Trust event
will take place in the Ruth Braman Room; turn right when you enter
the library. The Penfield Library is located on 1985 Baird Road
off of Route 441 in Penfield For more information, call Genesee
