Genesee Land Trust, located at 500 East Avenue, has announced that
it is the recipient of multiple grants awarded through the Land
Trust Alliance’s 2006 New York State Conservation Partnership
Program. This is subsequent to the Land Trust Alliance and State
Officials announcement of $450,000 in new grants and technical assistance
to Enhance Open Space Conservation in New York State.
Genesee Land Trust is one of only three land trusts in the state
(along with Orange County Land Trust and Winnakee Land Trust –
both located downstate) to win a Professional Development Grant,
a highly competitive award, in the amount of $35,000. In addition,
Genesee Land Trust was awarded a Transaction Grant in the amount
of $2,000.
Currently protecting 2500 acres in Greater Rochester, Genesee Land
Trust was founded by Rochesterians and is in its 17 year. Its Website
