Volunteering with
Genesee Land Trust is fun and rewarding! We have opportunities that
will match just about everybody's interests, talents, and availability.
It's a great way you can help preserve open space.
Volunteers Needs Include:
Special Events and
Public Outreach Opportunities
- Gardenscape - Represent the Trust at the Greater Rochester
Flower Show
- Native Plant Sale - Help set up or work the day of the
sale, Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Brighton Town Hall. Set up
is 6:30 a.m. Sale is from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Backyard Habitat Tour - A huge fun event! We need greeters
at the various properties on the day of the tour, Saturday, June
21, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
On-going Volunteer
Needs
- Work Parties - Trail work, invasive plant control, trash
pick up. At various preserves. Generally weekends. Visit

- Booth Staffers - Greet people and hand out information
at various events.
- Mailing Parties- Help with mailings for memberships,
annual appeal, etc. Generally week days.
Get involved with a
Committee
- Special Events - Conceptualize, coordinate, or just help
out with special events.
- Land Management - Training provided.(Monitors regularly
visit their assigned preserve and work with the committee to develop
and implement long-range management plans and coordinate maintenance.
- Public Information - Be a part of our editorial team
that writes and publishes the seasonal GLT Newsletter
- Development Committee - Research funding opportunities
and/or help with grant writing
