Birding Meadow Walk

  • Salmon Creek Nature Preserve 492 Bennett Road Hilton, NY 14468 United States (map)

May is peak season for bird migration, and Salmon Creek Nature Preserve is a hot spot with more than 100 bird species already identified. Join Greg Lawrence, a SUNY Brockport research scientist focused on birds and Genesee Land Trust Board Member, for an easy and educational walk around the meadow and along the creek.

Bring a reusable water bottle and binoculars if you have them - we will have a few pairs available. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes. All ages welcome. Please leave dogs at home, as they might scare off the birds.

Accessibility: the trail is wide, flat and grassy - accessible for wheels unless the ground is wet/muddy. There are 3 benches along the trail, which is a ~ 1.5-mile loop. There is limited shade around the meadow. Paved off-street parking with 8 spaces is available, as well as many spaces along the side of the road. Please use caution if you park along the road - it can be busy. There is no bathroom.

Covid safety: In accordance with the latest CDC guidance, masks are optional for fully vaccinated attendees. Please do not attend if you are not feeling well for any reason.
