Work Party: Cornwall Tree Planting

  • Cornwall Preserve 3975 Lake Road Williamson, NY, 14589 United States (map)

Folks, we need your help! More than 2,000 tree saplings need to be planted at Cornwall Preserve. We’re hosting work parties until they’re planted. This major undertaking (3,000 trees total will be planted) is the final step in a multi-year wetland restoration project. With your help, in 10 years many of those trees will create a shady 3-acre wetland habitat for birds to use during their spring and fall migration.

Come any time during this window - and stay tuned for more dates as needed.

All ages and ability levels are encouraged to sign-up; there will be a job for everyone. Please dress appropriately for working outdoors (sturdy footwear, long pants, sun protection). We suggest you bring a water bottle and work gloves. Tools and snacks will be provided.

To attend you must sign up below. Please do not attend if you are not feeling well. An email reminder will be sent the week of the event with directions and parking details. Contact Will Macaluso at wmacaluso@geneseelandtrust.org with questions.

About Work Parties
Work Parties are weekend volunteer events where new and experienced volunteers work with Genesee Land Trust staff on trail and habitat improvement projects. If you’ve got some time on the weekends and an interest in giving back to your local conservation lands we invite you to join in on the work party fun.
