More Event Details:
Accessibility: Mertensia Park is located along Mud Creek. From the entrance, you’ll go down a steep hill to get to the main parking lot and lodge. There is a sidewalk from the lodge along the entrance road. The entrance to the Auburn Trail - a flat stone dust trail very popular for biking- is at the top of the hill/park entrance.
For more information, please reach out to our Inclusion Point of Contact, Elliotte Bowerman, at ebowerman@geneseelandtrust.org or (585) 256-2130
Bikes: We welcome celebration attendees to bike to the park. When Mud Creek Nature Preserve opens, biking will not be allowed for everyone’s safety.
Parking and Public Transit: The lodge and fields area has a large, paved parking lot with accessible spots available for event attendees. There are also four parking spots at the park entrance adjacent to the Auburn Trail. Parking along Mertensia Road is not recommended. Overflow parking will be in the neighborhood across the street - please do not block any driveways and use caution when crossing the road.
Restrooms: ADA restrooms will be available in the Mertensia Lodge.
Pets: Dogs, other pets, emotional support, comfort, and companion animals are not allowed at Genesee Land Trust events. Although your pet may be friendly, everyone has different familiarity and experiences with animals. Thank you for being respectful to other attendees.
Service Animals: Service animals, which are dogs or miniature horses that are specifically trained to perform tasks for people with disabilities, are welcome. Service animals must always be under the control of the handler, housebroken, cleaned up after, and vaccinated in accordance with state laws.
