After a long winter, who’s not excited for spring? Whether it’s the familiar call of the red-winged blackbird, the chorus of spring peepers in vernal pools, or early spring ephemerals starting to poke out of the soil—we’re ready! Join Genesee Land Trust’s Senior Director of Conservation, Kevin Farrell, for an observational and educational stroll at Cornwall Preserve to observe the signs of spring in Cornwall Preserve’s grasslands, wetlands, and woodlands. We invite you to bring your own binoculars and will have several pairs to share. This event is open to all ages and abilities.
The walk will be approximately 1.5 miles on rolling grassy trails. Since it’s spring there will be areas of mud, so boots are strongly recommended. It can be breezy and cool up on the Lake so please dress in layers and be prepared for uncertain spring weather.
We’re celebrating 10 years of Cornwall Preserve! This year, look for an event each season celebrating this special place and all the special people who’ve helped make it what it is today. Thank you for being part of this journey.
