Step into the heart of High Falls on July 17, 2026, for a rare, guided walk to the base of Rochester’s iconic 96-foot waterfall!
Genesee River Alliance, Greentopia, and Tour Blend are partnering with Rochester Gas & Electric to offer a special behind-the-scenes opportunity to experience High Falls from a powerful new perspective. We’ll gather at Granite Mills Park, at the west end of the Pont de Rennes pedestrian bridge along Brown’s Race, before walking down Falls Street to the RG&E Hydroelectric Plant and the base of the falls.
Along the way, you’ll hear the stories of Brown’s Race, learn how RG&E’s Hydro Station operates, and have the opportunity to meet planners involved in the future New York State Park at High Falls. This is also your chance to ask questions, share ideas, and help imagine what this remarkable place can become.
Don’t miss this chance to explore a place the public rarely gets to visit - and bring your camera for unforgettable views!
Two guided walks will be offered, one at 4 PM and another starting at 5 PM. Each walk will last approximately one hour. We will meet at 104 Platt St, Rochester, NY 14616.
Bring a water bottle and wear safe, sturdy footwear—no open-toed shoes, heels, or flip-flops.
