Protected Lands

Genesee Land Trust uses a special tool to conserve significant private lands — from natural habitats to family farms — in partnership with landowners who will care for and manage the land. Ideal for lands that provide habitats important for wildlife and for working lands, this tool is known as a conservation easement. It is a voluntary and perpetual agreement that keeps the land from being developed. Other restrictions vary depending on the type of land protected.
